… something I truly enjoy. Really. This is a problem in my household. Words like “mall” and “shopping”, if uttered at home, are capable of  raising my husband’s eyebrows, and then comes the flurry of questions, and the ever-constant reminder: “Don’t buy what you don’t need!” But I can’t help it. I’m a shopaholic, I love shopping! I think I am worse than Becky in the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella.

So yes, I am a bit freakish this way. It is true that I cannot walk into a mall without buying something. I don’t care if it’s a new dress or shoes, or a bottle of shampoo: my husband has observed and noted that everytime we go to a mall, I end up with a new item. And the very rare occasions when I don’t buy anything, warrants a huge celebration, pats of congratulations on my back, and Husband going, “There is hope for you yet.”

Because of these state of affairs, I am therefore careful about shopping with my husband around. This is where internet shopping comes in. I arrange for the items to be sent to my office, and I drool over them in glee. I stack new shoes and sandals in my office room.  All it takes is a click (or two) of the mouse. And shopping online has some great benefits too! Whoever said that we wouldn’t be able to benefit from sale items online is a ditz. I bought a top online for $4.70. I bought a pair of gladiator sandals for $12.80. It’s laughable, the prices these items go for! I am chuckling, giggling, beaming as I run through the web pages, I can’t stop it- I’m ecstatic! I buy my designer bags online- a local writer once said, “I never buy retail anymore” [when it came to handbags] and I heartily agree with her! I never buy my handbags in retail stores anymore- I get so much more savings buying them online.

Sigh…. I love shopping. Or have I already said that?
