The Dream of The Daffodils

The daffodils dream
As they cry and sing
When the winds are low and breathing fast.

The daffodils dream
As the sunshine brings
The love light stumblings of the past

The daffodils dream
In a sea of silver
Like Adonis in the arms of Venus.

The daffodils dream
When the night is winter
And the maddening soul is cleanest.

The strangest justice
The universal truth
The daffodils sleep in the purest tomb.

The widest fears
Of the widest dooms
The daffodils light in the colour zone.

Midnight bloom of summer heat
Sink thy pillows soft
And the daffodils shall come you meet.

The daffodils dream of a mortal taint
That only we conceive.
